1. How to set the time zone on Preply?

Set up your time zone and never miss your lessons.

Go to the Account Settings menu (it is a default page once you click on Settings) Set up your time zone accordingly, based on your current location. Click “Save Settings”.
Setting your time zone correctly is a crucial step to ensure that the lessons take place as scheduled. Preply system will coordinate the time difference between you and your tutor, and the times you see on our platform are always adjusted based on your own time zone.

2. How to schedule lessons?

Go to the "My lessons" page Choose your tutor and press the "Schedule lessons" button. If you don’t have enough prepaid hours to schedule a lesson, you’ll see a "Buy more hours" button instead.
Be sure to set your current time zone so your lessons and your tutor’s schedule display correctly in your local time. After booking the first lesson with your tutor, you can schedule further lessons, reschedule and cancel lessons using the ‘My lessons’ page. You can choose to schedule repeating weekly lessons or schedule lessons one by one.

3. How to reschedule a lesson?

Go to the "My lessons" page. Click on my name (Andreia B.) and select a scheduled lesson. Choose "Reschedule". You will see your tutor’s calendar with their available time slots. Choose the date and time you’d like to reschedule. Confirm your new schedule.

4. How to cancel a lesson?

When you become aware that you will not be able to participate in a scheduled lesson, please try to inform me as far in advance as possible by rescheduling or canceling your lesson in the ‘My lessons’ menu. Note that you can cancel or reschedule lessons for free up to 4 hours in advance of the scheduled start time. Otherwise, the Cancellation Policy may apply.

5. How do I join a class?

Join Zoom.

All of my classes are now on Zoom. After several issues with Preply Classrooms, I changed to this option. You will always receive a link to join our meeting before the appointed class. This link is sent to your Preply inbox message. Please, always check Preply before a class to join the meeting on Zoom.

6. Can I access the classes on my tablet or phone?

Use headphones.

Yes! But, to fully enjoy my classes I advise you to use a laptop or a PC.

7. Can I send messages on Preply outside my lesson? How will I know if I get a new message?

Messages are stored on Preply.

Yes, you can send and read messages in the Preply Classroom at any time. Use messages to communicate before/after a class - they’ll be saved so you can review them later. You’ll receive notifications about new messages on the Messages page.

8. How do students confirm lessons?

Always confirm our class after it ends.

Students can confirm lessons on the My Lessons page or use the link in the confirmation reminder email.

9. What if the other person is absent?

Any issues will be reported.

Preply send reminders to all students and tutors before each lesson. If your tutor or student doesn’t show up, you can send them a message in the Preply Classroom or another chat tool. If the lesson didn't happen, you can reschedule or cancel. If you’re a student, please contact your tutor and discuss the possibility of canceling or rescheduling the lesson. If your tutor does not reply to you back during the next 24 hours, please contact Preply support.
